    LGBTQIA+ Therapy

Stigma-free, affirming therapy for LGBTQIA+ Individuals

Do you live outside of the heteronormative-cisgender box? Maybe NB or Ace fit your self-view.

Have you been to other supposed “LGBTQ+ friendly” mental health professionals who had no idea what you were talking about? Or they thought everything going on was related to your identity, even the things that weren’t. Maybe their bookshelf had no materials related to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Could you use a safe space to process your feelings and discuss your goals?

If so, then you’ve come to the right place.

No judgment. No biases. Just a strong support system with open ears.

Stigma, in any form, is an impediment to the well-being of those who experience it. Given the stressors of homophobia, prejudice, coming out, and discrimination, finding a therapist who is fully LGBTQ+ friendly can lead to feeling more comfortable with your therapist and gaining more benefit from your time spent in therapy.

As a clinical social worker with a passion for equality and social justice, I am committed to helping clients of all genders, sexual identities, and expressions feel not only safe, but truly accepted and respected. How have I shown that? I have completed continuing education on LGBTQ+ topics in addition to reading continuing education material for no educational credit simply to be more informed, done some independent reading on gender affirming care, and attended local Pride festivals. Although I am cis-het, I have long been an LGBTQ+ ally. I have been serving LGBTQ+ clients throughout my social work career and often referred people to community LGBTQ+ support groups when appropriate for additional support.

If you or someone you know is seeking help from a therapist who welcomes members of the LGBTQIA+ community, contact me today. I would be happy to speak with you about how I can help.

I’m an OutCare Certified provider on the OutCare Health OutList. You can also see my listing on the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Directory by the Tegan and Sara Foundation & GLMA– Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality and on the Trans in the South directory and the local Rocket City Rainbow Pages and ALTGO :: Local Resources .
